Asymptotic Analysis of Non-symmetric Linear Operators via Γ-convergence

We study the asymptotic behavior of a sequence of Dirichlet problems for second order linear operators in divergence form { −div(σε∇u) = f in Ω, u ∈ H1 0 (Ω), where (σε) ⊂ L∞(Ω;Rn×n) is uniformly elliptic and possibly non-symmetric. On account of the variational principle of Cherkaev and Gibiansky [1], we are able to prove a variational characterization of the H-convergence of (σε) in terms of ...

Convergence Rate of Empirical Autocovariance Operators in H-Valued Periodically Correlated Processes

This paper focuses on the empirical autocovariance operator of H-valued periodically correlated processes. It will be demonstrated that the empirical estimator converges to a limit with the same periodicity as the main process. Moreover, the rate of convergence of the empirical autocovariance operator in Hilbert-Schmidt norm is derived.

H-Convergence and Numerical Schemes for Elliptic Problems

We study the convergence of two coupled numerical schemes, which are a discretization of a so-called elliptic-hyperbolic system. Only weak convergence properties are proved on the discrete diffusion of the elliptic problem and an adaptation of the H-convergence method gives a convergence property of the elliptic part of the scheme. The limit of the approximate solution is then the solution of a...

Convergence of Schrödinger Operators

For a large class, containing the Kato class, of real-valued Radon measures m on R the operators −∆ + ε∆ + m in L(R, dx) tend to the operator −∆ +m in the norm resolvent sense, as ε tends to zero. If d ≤ 3 and a sequence (μn) of finite real-valued Radon measures on R converges to the finite real-valued Radon measure m weakly and, in addition, supn∈N μ ± n (R) < ∞, then the operators −∆ + ε∆ + μ...
